The film
Northfold asked for a film about their heaviest parka and gave us one rule: no product shots. So we made a film about the moment you stop fighting the cold — two days on the frozen Gulf of Bothnia with one actor, one lens and a forecast that never improved.
We shot almost everything on a 75mm, close enough to hear him breathe, and let the whiteout do the art direction.
My part
Directed from treatment to final grade. Cinematography by Mira Saarinen; cut by Leah Okafor with me in the room.
